2023
2023 July 6 - Shireen was a virtual speaker as part of the series “First Person: Living Joy Fully” where she spoke on joy and how finding and sharing joy can give hope during challenging times, hosted by Calgary Public Library in Calgary, Alberta.
2023 February 28 - Shireen was the guest speaker as part of an event hosted by Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Her presentation was titled “Challenging and Changing the Game: Sports Journalism and Storytelling from an Anti-Oppression Lens.”
2023 February 16 - Shiren spoke as part of a Black History Month, where she discussed inclusive journalism and how to approach storytelling with an anti-oppressive lens hosted by Trent University in Durham, Ontario.
2023 February 15 - Shireen spoke as part of a panel titled “Women in Leadership: A Journey to Success” hosted by the Women in Leadership Association (Toronto Metropolitan University) in Toronto, Ontario. She spoke about how to effectively handle corporate obstacles, how to strengthen your professional network, and develop the skills necessary to stand out as a leader, amongst other topics.

2022 October 11 - Shireen and her four co-hosts of Burn it All Down helped inaugurate Notre Dame's new Minor in Sport, Media, and Culture (SMaC) by recording a live episode for a public audience, followed by a Q & A, hosted by the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.
2022 February 25-27 - Shireen spoke on a virtual panel at NASH 84 - Canadian University Press Conference hosted by The Concordian (Concordia University’s independent student newspaper). Her panel was titled “At the Intersections of Sports Journalism.”
2022 January 17 - 18 - Shireen was a moderator of a panel titled “See it-Be It” hosted by The Carnegie Initiative Summit 2022 in Boston, Massachusetts. This panel included the following panellists: Erica Ayala (Firebird Media), Donnovan Bennett (Sportsnet), Anson Carter (Turner), Kwame Mason ("Soul On Ice"), Harnarayan Singh (Sportsnet), and Tyler Tumminia (Premier Hockey Federation).

2021 October 23 - Shireen was a part of a panel titled “Intervention 4 - War Minus the Shootouts” where she, alongside Sean Jacobs, discussed sports, the outpost of capitalism and the battlefield of decolonization hosted by Warscapes magazine.
2021 May 20-21 - Shireen spoke as part of the virtual panel titled “Bodies of Knowledge 2021 Conference: Anti-Racism in Kinesiology, Sport, & Physical Education” hosted by at Kinesiology and Physical Education Graduate Society of the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario.

2020 January 9-12 - Shireen presented and spoke on a panel at NASH 82 - Canadian University Press Conference hosted by The Ubyssey (UBC’s independent student publication) in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her first presentations is titled “Bridging the gaps in sports journalism” and the second panel is titled “From recaps to podcasts: The changing face of sports journalism.”
2019
2019 December 7-8 - Shireen spoke and moderated two panels at the Princeton Soccer Conference in Princeton, New Jersey. Her first panel was titled “More than Exports: Youth, Women, and Football in the Global South” and the second panel she moderated is titled “Soccer for Good: How Can the Sort Promote Positive Social Change.”
2019 November 23 - Shireen moderated a Talkback with Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir following a screening of her film, Life Without Basketball, hosted by Regent Park Film Festival in Toronto, Ontario.
2019 November 14 - Shireen spoke on a discussion panel about Muslim Femininities in Sport at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

2019 October 16 - Shireen was featured on the TEDxToronto panel on Gender Inclusion in Sport at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Expo in Toronto, Ontario.
2019 September 9 - Shireen recorded a live Burn it All Down podcast episode hosted by the Amend Together Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The panel discussed how the Burn it All Down podcast challenges the culture that supports violence against women.
2019 June 13 - Shireen spoke at an international panel titled “Fighting for Equality – The Hijab ban and Muslim Women in football” hosted by the FARE Network in Paris, France.
2019 June 4 - Shireen hosted a pre-screening question and answer with filmmaker Naziha Arebi about her film Freedom Fields hosted by the Canadian Sport Film Festival in Toronto, Ontario.

2018 November 29 - Shireen was a speaker at an event hosted by the Toronto Centre for Community Learning & Development (CCL&D) in Toronto, Ontario. Her presentation discussed the “Intersections of racism and misogyny in sports.”
2018 November 15 - Shireen was a speaker at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Her presentation was titled "Intersectional Justice and the right to cheer: Iranian Women, Soccer and Stadium Politics.”
